Salina

Salina, like Lipari, was once a volcano. It is more of a fisherman's island now. Not many people live there - but it's still pretty. A fair amount of "il Postino" was shot on this particular island - the rest was filmed on Lipari, Filicudi, and I believe Alicudi.

Enjoy!

Lipari is known for its pumice stone. This was once where they manufactured it - now it's on the other side of the island.

Our guide LOVED to drive the boat into the smallest caves just to prove "he" could do it.
